Location
This workshop takes place in the heart of Stirling’s historic Old Town, offering remarkable aerial perspectives across one of Scotland’s most important historic settings. Participants will photograph the magnificent Church of the Holy Rude one of the most historically significant churches in Scotland. In 1567, the infant James VI of Scotland was crowned here, making it one of only three surviving active churches in Britain (only one in Scotland) to host a royal coronation.
From the air, you’ll also capture sweeping views towards Stirling Castle and across the skyline to the National Wallace Monument, creating powerful compositions that combine architecture, landscape, and centuries of Scottish history.
Additional Information
Participants will also receive a brief introduction to the history of the Church of the Holy Rude, including its royal connection to the coronation of James VI and it's historical important within Stirling. A short break will be included during the workshop for coffee and cakes, providing time to chat, review images, and discuss techniques in a relaxed setting.
Important Information
- This workshop is open to non-FPV drones that fall within the UK Open A1 category, including UK-class marked (UK0 / UK1), EU-class marked (C0 / C1), or any drone weighing under 250g.
- All pilots must hold a valid UK Operator ID and Flyer ID.
- All participants must hold their own valid drone insurance (£10 million public liability minimum). This must be presented before attending the workshop. Please email a copy of your insurance details to workshop@thekilted.photo quoting your name and order number.
- All participants are responsible for operating their own aircraft and complying with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations.
- Workshop may be cancelled at short notice due circumstances out with our control, for example weather or airspace restrictions. A full refund or the option to transfer to another date will be given.
